Key Tasks & Responsibility
- Responsible for the support and development of electronics hardware and firmware for use in lighting control devices.
- Participate in cross functional design reviews.
- Lead projects and guide more junior level engineers with firmware and hardware expertise.
- Promotes best practices and continuous improvement though documentation and development of standard work
- Act as a subject matter expert, providing technical support to marketing, customer service, manufacturing, and product development engineering.
- Develop embedded firmware for lighting controls systems
- Hardware development and support of existing hardware designs for manufacturability, cost reduction opportunities and quality improvements
- Factory and Field support of issues that arise at customer and manufacturing locations.
- Support ABS/Lean Transformation as Kaizen team participant and/or leader and completion of post Kaizen activity.
- Continuously look for areas of process improvement directed at improving process productivity including quality, purchasing and manufacturing.
Required Education
Minimum of BS in Electrical, Mechatronics or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent.
Preferred Experience:
- 7+ years of experience, embedded firmware and hardware development
- Proficient in embedded firmware development experience in C or C++
- Proficient in electronic hardware development with experience in circuit analysis, schematic capture, troubleshooting and design
- Familiar with Agile methods including Sprint, Scrum, and Test Driven Development
- Familiar with Lean principles (Kanban, 8 wastes, 5S, Kaizen, etc.)
- Prefer a solid working knowledge of current electrical codes and standards
- Prefer experience with lighting or lighting controls and electronic manufacturing
