Position Focus:
This position will provide strategic leadership, oversight and administration in the following areas: Talent Recruitment and Retention, Leave Administration, Leadership & Professional Development, Performance Review Administration, and Human Capital Management. This position will be responsible for analysis reporting on and monitoring of processes and systems related to workplace excellence. Makes recommendations for improvement across all facets of operations. Develops strategies to achieve organizational goals. Adapts strategy to changing conditions and looks for ways to improve and enhance service quality. Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and models commitment to excellence and focus in others.
This position is a member of Senior Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Associate Vice President of Yale Hospitality.

Essential Duties
1. Provides guidelines and oversees management of recruiting activities such as development of job descriptions, the interview process and competency evaluations.2. Provides recommendations on organizational structure & effectiveness and oversees programs for onboarding/immersion of new staff.3. Oversees development and compliance of all necessary training such as safety, sexual harassment, and diversity awareness. 4. Working with Senior Team, identifies gaps in workplace excellence. Leads development of new programs that support organizational change, growth and improvement. Develop programs to provide growth and development opportunities for incumbent management teams and staff.5. Oversees the implementation of performance related follow up and ensures escalation to HR as needed.6. Serves as liaison between the Senior Leadership Team and HR on HR matters, including the appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.7. Leads and manages the creation, design and implementation of effective systematic methods to educate, enhance and recognize performance in a hospitality organization. 8. Aligns operational procedures and performance to ensure compliance with University policies and regulatory authorities. 9. Implements systems to ensure timely distribution of communications and information pertaining to various aspects of operations, including emergency management.10. In collaboration with HR, develops required monitoring and reporting infrastructure. Analyzes trends at each location in turnover, hiring, promotions, separations, and grievances to ensure compliance with union agreement and/or determine support or action needed.11. Provides leadership and oversight for all aspects of away from work and leave management. 12. Performs a leadership role in developing a culture that enables optimal employee performance, aligned with mission vision and values. 13. Identifies values, behaviors and skills required for future managers and staff through implementation of succession planning.
Required Education and Experience
1. Bachelor s Degree in a related field.
2. 10 years of related operational experience in a complex multi-faceted operation.
3. Five years in a management capacity.

Ability to assess complex organizational structures based on technical, conceptual and people needs and generate creative solutions using intuition and experience to complement data.

Ability to demonstrate sound and accurate judgment, and timely informed decision-making.
Required Skill/Ability 5:
Competency with: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project and Visio.
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:
Master s degree.
