Job Description THE COMPANY We are a growing western Connecticut based manufacturer with over 50 years of experience providing individual metal parts that are fabricated and machined for a broad spectrum of customers including aerospace, defense, medical and others. We are ISO 9001:2008, AS9100C certified and ITAR registered with plans to expand our operations. LOCATION The position is located at the Company’s facility in Connecticut RESPONSIBILITIES We are looking for a financial controller with at least 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment to be responsible for all aspects of financial management for our growing company. The Controller will use QuickBooks and the E-2 ERP System and must have a high level of financial experience and analysis. The Controller’s primary responsibilities will include the following: · Manage all accounting operations of the Company including billing, A/R, A/P, GL, bank reconciliations, payroll, cost accounting, inventory accounting and revenue recognition. · Prepare a variety of timely financial statements to management including clear and concise monthly reports, quarterly reports, year-end closings, taxes and balance sheets and income statements on a scheduled basis. · Manage and track inventory to ensure accurate financial reporting and ensure internal controls. · Lead month-end and year-end close process. · Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances. · Lead and manage an annual and interim audit process with the Company’s outside auditors · Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants and maintain necessary business interactions with Company’s lenders. Manage compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. · Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls. · Research technical accounting issues and work with external auditors to ensure compliance. · Train and supervise personnel in accounting procedures, E-2 operation and QuickBooks as well as other office related duties such as invoicing. · Additional controller duties as necessary. QUALIFICATIONS · 10+ years of combined accounting and financial experience in a manufacturing environment. · Ideally, past experience as a controller at a manufacturing company · Experience with financial reporting and cost accounting · Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting · CPA is desirable, but not required · Excellent technical computer skills, expertise with QuickBooks accounting software, E-2 and Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word and Powerpoint).
